Bennie was one of Dr. Downie’s first patients when she took over the Redstone practice in 2011. Bennie was in congestive heart failure and spent a lot of time at Redstone, as did his owner. One day, Bennie’s owner observed another client who was distraught at our front desk, unable to afford care for her animal. Bennie’s owner gifted a check made out to Redstone. The only instructions were to use it for a client who couldn’t afford veterinary care. Thus, “Bennie’s Bucks” was born! Bennie’s owner continued to contribute over the years; other clients have also contributed.
With these funds, we have been able to help many families and patients, and we would like to continue to proudly help our community with Bennie’s Bucks as long as possible!
